Nov 20 JCTV News Review

Section 3 failed to get the news on the air once again. This is two newscasts in a row and there needs to be something fixed so that the news can go on the air next time. We can all improve still. Personally, I messed up getting the music going to open the newscast. Next time, I need to be more aware and have the mics open for the CD player. Our anchor's could improve and stop laughing when they are speaking. The person who changes the cameras in the back room could have done better. He messed up getting the weather on the screen, but that can be easily fixed. It was his first time with a new job, so those mistakes are somewhat expected. If everyone can focus and do their job properly next time, there is no doubt we can get a good newscast on the air. We have done it before so we definitely have the ability to do a good newscast.

JCTV News Nov 13

Section 3's newscast for November 13 was not as good as it has been in the past. Everyone definitely had something they could improve on. Every member knows this because this newscast did not make it on the air. When this happens, something obviously did not go as wanted. I could improve personally by making the volume of the microphones more consistent. This way, everything sounds more fluid and it all flows together when we change microphones. Other people in the newscast could do better as well. The person that does the slideshow and puts the weather on the screen should have been more aware of the fact that she did not have the forecast up first, but rather the radar. Our weather man could have done better by going over the radar while we got the forecast up. This would have been better then having a 10 second delay while everyone is confused. Our anchors could also do better by making their words clearer and looking up at the cameras. Also, they need to make sure that they pitch it over to the right person when they are done speaking. All in all, this wasn't a great newscast and everyone can improve for next time.

Film Review #2: The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is a 1939 film and is known as one of the greatest movies of all time by many people. 99% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes enjoyed it. It was a very influential movie to everything we see on TV today. It was the first movie to be shown in color. Everything we see now is in color. This movie set the tone for movie making today.

The movie is about a girl named Dorothy and her adventure with her dog Toto. A tornado comes and takes her to the magical land of Oz. In Oz, she meets a crew of interesting characters. They include a talking scarecrow and tin man. They are in search of the wizard. After a fun adventure she returns home. This is just a brief summary about what the movie is about without giving away too much.

This movie is great for anyone because when you watch this movie, it is like watching the basis of movies right in front of you. The movie is well plotted with suspense coming everywhere. There isn't any point where the viewer will become bored because there is so much happening and its a magical world where the unimaginable happens. You cannot predict the plot of what will happen next in this movie because of that. This keeps the viewer entertained throughout the entire film. That is what a good movie is made of. Something that will make the viewers want to watch again. When people are still raving about a movie 75 years later, you know the makers did something right.
